A custom OBD2 port for your car
We're building our own OBD2 hardware port that plugs into any car and talks straight to AutoBrain. Plug in once, and every drive is logged automatically — even if your phone dies.
What it is
AutoBrain is working on a custom OBD2 port — a small adapter that slots into your car's diagnostic port (the same port mechanics use) and records your drives without a phone in your hand. No cables, no dashboard units, no manual log entries.
Designed for people who actually work on their own cars: it turns every drive into data and every warning light into a question the app can answer.
Features
- Always-on trip recording — every trip is logged automatically the moment the engine starts, even with your phone off.
- Auto sleep — detects when the car is off and goes to sleep, so it never drains your battery.
- GPS data to your log book — on-board GPS records your route, and every drive shows as a route on the map in your log book.
- Live fault-code capture — if the check-engine light comes on, the code is captured and explained by AutoBrain's AI diagnostics.
- Automatic odometer updates — your odometer stays in sync without typing a number.
- VIN auto-fill — reads the vehicle identification number straight from the car.
How it works
- Plug it in — into the OBD2 port under the dash (most cars since 1996).
- Pair it — one tap in the AutoBrain app over Bluetooth.
- Drive — the port logs your trips, route and fault codes in the background, and sleeps when you park.
- Let AutoBrain explain — AI turns codes and trends into plain-language maintenance advice.
When?
